American midfielder Ricardo Clark has been loaned from Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt to Norway's Stabaek.

Stabaek said Wednesday the loan runs through July 31

A 29-year-old from Atlanta, Clark signed with Frankfurt in 2010 after leaving Major League Soccer's Houston Dynamo. He fell into disfavor and hasn't played for the club since July 25, its second game of the season.

Clark has been criticized by many American fans since he was stripped of the ball at the 2010 World Cup, leading to a goal by Ghana as the U.S. was eliminated in the second round. Clark scored on a stoppage-time header to give the Americans a 1-0 exhibition win over Venezuela last month.

Stabaek last month loaned American midfielder Mix Diskerud to Belgium's Ghent.
